Quite some time ago I found mention of an independent documentary that analyzed the concept of doors. I’ve done plenty of searching to find that movie, with no sucess, but I think the concept is interesting. Doors are an important part of our life, no? They give us plenty of non-verbal cues that dictate our actions. An open door signals “come in”; the closed door connotates “stay away”. If we lived in a world without doors then our privacy would be destroyed and everything would be on display for the world to see.
To stretch this to somehow relate to anime, I consider the internet a world without doors. The concept of “open” and “close” doesn’t apply here. Privacy doesn’t exist. There is no cue on the Internet similar to a closed door ergo the doors are always open.
So be careful what you let those open doors lead too.
